OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2011. An another check of conformance of the quality management system to requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2008 (Russian analogue is GOST R ISO 9001-2008) was held at Rostov NPP.

Three years ago the plant passed an audit and was granted a certificate of conformance which has to be confirmed after its validity has expired. The work of the commission included a random inspection of main processes and divisions of the plant. On the whole, nearly all main personnel of the plant were inspected.

Auditors of the Certification Association “Russian Register” Andrey Kuzmitsky and Dmitry Danilov noted a high level of the quality management system development and involvement of the personnel in the improvements introduction process.

The auditors also noted a sufficiently high level of operational housekeeping and cleanness at the plant, openness of the personnel and management. As a best practice, the experts highlighted positive attitudes of the personnel to the inspection, good quality of the personnel training, re-training and qualification, organization of the equipment upgrading activities, and optimal staff rotation system.

Speaking on the inspection results, Chief Certification Expert of the Certification Association “Russian Register” D. Danilov emphasized: “Commitment of the Rostov NPP personnel to continuous improvement of the quality management has been demonstrated. The work experience of Volgodonsk nuclear workers in interaction with suppliers of equipment and services deserves attention.”
 
The commission statement made for the Certification Association “Russian Register” recommends its management to grant certificates of conformance of Rostov NPP to requirements of the declared standards.
