OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2011. Belarus’ consumer price index went up 3.4% on August 1-16, up 45.8% since the beginning of the year, an official in the National Statistics Committee told reporters.

Pork prices rose 13.5%, beef half-cooked product prices increased 13%, egg prices rose 11.4%, and vegetable oil prices went up 8.8%, etc. in the first two weeks of August.

In 2010, consumer prices grew by 9.9% while in 2009 the growth was 10.1%. The forecast for 2011 stands at 7.5%-8.5%.
