OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2011. Rosenergoatom Concern will help to solve social problems of municipalities which are located close to the construction site of Baltic NPP: Neman and Krasnoznamensk Regions and the city of Sovetsk. A related decision was made by the utility management.
 
Non-profit and non-governmental organizations which submitted their social projects to Rosenergoatom will receive about 18 million rubles.
 
In Neman Region, which was allocated 10 million rubles, the grant recipients are secondary general school No. 1 (for refurbishment of the gym hall, purchase of aids and school uniform); a school in Ulyanovo settlement (for outfitting halls of one of the best museums in the region). The Regional Recreation Center intends to spend allocated funds for equipment for a multifunctional audience hall.
 
More than 3 million rubles will be spent for building children’s sports grounds in villages and Neman City. The city stadium will be refurbished, the city park will be landscaped with new trees and bushes planted. The disabled rehabilitation center will also be donated. In support of the patriotic upbringing of youth, Rosenergoatom allocated funds to establish a cadet class in School No. 2.

Five million rubles were allocated for Krasnoznamensk Region. A skateboard ground will be built in the regional center and children’s playgrounds and sports grounds will be built in settlements; springs near Nemanskoe Village will be developed.
 
In the City of Sovetsk a sports ground will be built along with up-to-date landscaping in the municipal independent educational institution “Child Development Center No. 10 Rodnichok”.
 
Rosenergoatom Concern has run the program of financial support of social projects for several years; the utility actively interacts with municipalities in regions that host nuclear industry enterprises. For instance, last year in Kaliningrad Region 15 socially significant projects worth over 14.6 million rubles were implemented.
