OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2011. Passenger car production in Russia rose 58.1% year on year to 1,093.4 thousand units in January-August 2011, according to provisional data of ASM Holding analysts. Of the total, output of domestic car models was up 33.3% to 450.5 thousand units, while foreign-brand car output rose 81.7% to 642.9 thousand units.

In August 2011, car output was up 47.4% on the year to 145.2 thousand units including 60.1 thousand domestic models and 85.1 thousand foreign-brand cars.

Note: According to the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, sales of new passenger cars and LCVs in Russia increased by 48% in the first 8 months of 2011 and by 32% in August 2011 as compared with the same periods in 2010.
