OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2011. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin brought into operation the first stage of the gas transmission system (GTS) Sakhalin – KhabarovskVladivostok. The project was implemented on the order of LLC "Gazprom invest Vostok". The general contractor of the construction is LLC "STROYGAZMONTAZH".

GTS Sakhalin – Khabarovsk - Vladivostok is one of the priorities of the Eastern Gas Program. The main objective of the project is the development of gas supply to the Khabarovsk Territory and the Sakhalin Region, as well as the arrangement of gas supply to the Primorsky Territory.

The total length of the Sakhalin – KhabarovskVladivostok trunk gas pipeline is 1830 km. The length of the first start-up complex is 1350 km. The productivity of the first start-up complex is 6 bln. cubic meters of gas per year. When GTS, including 14 compressor stations with a total capacity of 1136 MW, is fully developed, the system will be able to transport 30 bln. cubic meters of Sakhalin gas annually.

The most difficult gas pipeline part (general contractor was LLC "STROYGAZMONTAZH" as well), was a two-string crossing under the Eastern Bosporus Strait, which has no equals in Russia and is a unique facility of the Russian gas industry.
