OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2011. The Company improves oil products hydrofining for fuel quality to meet technical regulation requirements.

Preparatory works as part of the second stage of hydrotreatment unit reconstruction are underway at the industrial site; design process and procurement with materials and equipment are performed.

The unit is designed for hydrofining of oil products from sulphur, nitrogen, oxygen, arsenic, halogens and metal compounds.  Gazprom neftekhim Salavat carries out technical upgrading of the unit in two stages, the first of which was completed in September 2009.

As a result of the second stage implementation it is planned to increase the efficiency of diesel fuel desulphurization up to 50 ppm, and later on up to 10 ppm in the course of the following modernization.  Replacement of reactors, furnaces, feed heat exchangers and cold high pressure separators will be performed within the frames of the project. Up-to-date hydrotreating catalyst of Axens Company will be used as a catalyst.

Duration of the second stage of hydrotreatment unit re-equipment is till March 2012, preliminary cost of the project makes 2 500 mln rubles.

The upgrade of the Unit will allow to improve the operational properties of fuels in compliance with the technical regulation requirements, reduce their corrosion activity along with their tendency to sedimentation and decrease amount of gas emissions into the air.
