OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2011. Most of facilities to be built during the pre-construction period at Baltic NPP (Neman, Kaliningrad Region) are being prepared for release to the acceptance commission. Alexander Shcherikanov, the Director of the Branch Northern Construction Directorate, reported this to a routine meeting of the Baltic NPP construction control panel.
 
The meeting was attended by Yegeny Vlasenko, the Director of Rosenergoatom’s Branch the Directorate of Baltic NPP under Construction; Yuri Shalimov, the Director General of Baltic NPP JSC; Alexander Makarov, the Director General of the Northern Construction Directorate (SUS); Ivan Grabelnikov, the Chief Engineer of the Baltic NPP Project at SPb AEP; as well as representatives of subcontractors.
 
According to Alexander Shcherikanov, SUS, which is the prime contractor, is working at 39 facilities. Of planed 4,000,000 cubic meters of soil planned to move out during the site levelling some 116,000 cubic meters are remained to move out. The site fencing and installation of gates have been completed with a police post arranged.
 
The work to build a concrete-mixing plant, fill warehouse and vehicle weighting post on the site is nearing completion. Here, the equipment installation will be finished by mid October. At the reinforcement section sandwich panels have been installed and soft roofing laid; the work is expanding on engineering utilities. Indoor finishing is being completed in the customer’s administrative and amenity building, and the plot will be fully landscaped by September 15.
 
The work was completed at all on-site motor roads. Foundations for the pumping station and water inventory structure have been built.
 
Reporting on the work done in August, all subcontractor representatives noted that there were no delays from the working schedule and everything is as planned.
 
The task set forth to the meeting participants by Yevgeny Vasilenko was to keep the pace and start preparing for purchasing the equipment necessary for further work.
