The railway of Kazakhstan – is one of the main strategic partners of the Belarusian railway on the market of international cargo freight. The railway administrations of Belarus and Kazakhstan carry out the consistent work in the growth of cargo freight between two countries. The customs union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan and formation of the common free market zone of the three countries open the new perspective in the trade communications development. During January-July about 2,5 million tones of cargoes was delivered by the Belarusian railway to Russia and Kazakhstan, that exceeded by 16% to the level of the analogue period in 2010. The transit cargo on the Belarusian railway on the route to Russia and Kazakhstan raised in January-July by 14,6% (till 28,5 million tones) to the level of the same period of the last year. In the sum of the seven months in particular the transit of the cargoes in Kazakhstan on the Belarusian railway increased by 71,1% to the level of January-July in 2010. It is necessary to note that simplification of the procedure of customs clearance and control in the frame of the common free market zone allowed to organize the transit traffic of new cargoes on the Belarusian railway. In the sum of the seven months of 2011 the transit in Kazakhstan (particularly meet and butter) on the Belarusian railway came to 68 thousand tones. Such transit shipment hasn’t been organized earlier.

One of the examples of the successful railway administrations’ cooperation of Belarus and Kazakhstan is the running since 2002 container train “Kazakhstan vector”. Cargoes run in the composition of the train on the route to Brest-Aktobe-Arys to Kazakhstan and Central Asia countries. Besides, in march 2011 started to function the pilot container train from Chongqing (China) to Duisburg (Germany), which route passes through the territory of China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. The aim of the project is regular delivery from Chongqing to Duisburg in a very short space of time – 15-16 days. At present this container train passes on the regular basis. The seven trains are planned to arrive from China in September.
