OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2011. UTair Aviation, the largest helicopter operator in the world with the largerst fleet and capacity, continues to make long strides in passenger transportation. According to the Transport Clearing House, in the first eight month of 2011 UTair has moved into position among the top three passenger airlines in Russia by volume of passengers transported on international and domestic routes.

UTair Group, consisting of UTair Aviation, UTair Express, UTair-Ukraine, UTair-Cargo, Nefteyugansk, Helisur, UTair Europe s.r.o., UTair South Africa Ltd and UTair India continues to show significant growth. 

In the period from January to August 2011, passenger turnover constituted 7,662,621.8 PKM, an increase of 31.8% over same period in 2010 and surpassing the industry growth average for this indicator, which stands at 12.3%.

Other indicators grew considerably over the period as well. In the January-August period the Group’s fixed wing and rotorcraft fleets transported 4,772,874 passengers, a YoY increase of 28%.  Industry average growth stands at 11.4%.

In total, the Group’s fixed wing aircraft logged 163,208 flight hours, 21.7% more than for the same period last year. The Group’s aircraft delivered 11,128.9 tons of cargo, 15.8% more than for the same period in 2010 and 3,034.7 tons of mail, 25.2% more than for the same period in 2010. UTair Group helicopters logged a total of 88,211 flight hours, 15.7% more than for the same reporting period last year. UTair helicopters transported 101,356 tons of cargo, an increase of 17.3%.
