OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2011. The Fujitsu Group today announced that it had succeeded in reducing year-on-year power consumption by 20% to 41%, depending on business site, in areas serviced by Tokyo Electric Power Company and Tohoku Electric Power. This marks a substantial increase over the 15% cuts directed by the Japanese government for the July to September 2011 period. In addition, Fujitsu offices and factories serviced by The Kansai Electric Power Company reduced power consumption by over 10%, as directed by the government.

Power conservation measures were implemented in Fujitsu Group locations in Japan, led by large-scale sites in areas serviced by Tokyo Electric Power Company, Tohoku Electric Power and The Kansai Electric Power Company where it was necessary to comply with legal regulations and government directives, as well as Fujitsu plants and tenant office buildings nationwide. In addition, business sites required to comply with regulations in Tokyo Electric Power Company and Tohoku Electric Power service areas used ICT to observe electricity usage in real time as they steadfastly worked to achieve their goals.
