OREANDA-NEWS. October 7, 2011. A 65 ton bark press manufactured by Saalasti (Finland) was delivered to the Bratsk Branch of OJSC Ilim Group. This new piece of equipment which cost USD 1.5 million was purchased as part of the Big Bratsk investment project involving the construction of a new fiberline.

The bark press is intended for pressing bark and wood waste until it reaches the required moisture content of 53-55% prior to being fed into bark boilers.

A lot of ground work was completed to prepare the site for the delivery of the press by clearing adjacent areas, preparing the driveway, and acquiring a lowboy trailer of the required capacity.
