OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2011. For the first time French company Alstom had its Board of Directors meeting in Russian Novocherkassk E-Loco Building Site owned by Transmashholding,

Novocherkassk welcomed twelve Alstom Board members chaired by Patrick Kron. Meeting attendees list included several stars of international business world. Among celebrities visiting Russian site there were Jean-Martin Folz, Chairman of PSA Peugeot Citroen group from 1997 to 2007, Pascal Colombani, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Areva, the Goliath of French nuclear industry, Klaus Mangold, former Chairman of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of German Industry. The main item of the agenda was Alstom business opportunities across 1520 railway area. Alstom managers confirmed the course towards the strengthening of strategic partnership with Transmashholding, as well as towards the implementation of joint projects for the development of innovative rolling stock products and sophisticated components.

“We highly appreciate that our strategic partner decided to choose Novocherkassk for the meeting of its highest executive board,” shared Andrey Bokarev, the Chairman of Transmashholding Board, “which demonstrates that Alstom attaches a special significance to its business in Russia and partnership relations with the holding”.

Patrick Kron and Andrey Bokarev met Vasily Golubev, Rostov Region Governor on October 03, 2011 to discuss essential directions of region industrial development and professional education. Alstom, founded in 1928, is one of the world leading companies in rolling stock products manufacturing.

Alstom is present in 70 countries with more than 93,000 employees. The company activities include the manufacturing of rail infrastructure equipment and rolling stock products (Alstom Transport), products and systems for the power generation sector and power transmission business (Alstom Power and Alstom Grid). Alstom holds current world rail speed record. In 2011 Alstom became an owner of Transmashholding blocking share (25%+1).
