OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2011. i-Free has radically updated Smartive Travel, its smartphone application to purchase plane tickets. Now that the app is integrated with the major ticket aggregators, there will be more options and better deals. Moreover, Smartive Travel now has Russia’s first mobile online display board for all Russian airports.

i-Free has always been attentive to consumer feedback, improving its products according to users’ wishes and comments. Smartive Travel, a mobile application to plan and organize travel anywhere in the world, has also been improved to meet consumers halfway.

The first version of Smartive Travel was released last April. So far, the app has been downloaded more than 75,000 times. About 10,000 unique ticket inquiries are made daily via this application.

The purpose of the latest update to Smartive Travel was to create more options and benefits for users. As a result of the revamp, ticket prices are now lower, there is an online information display right in the interface, and there are better ways to find information on Smartive Travel.

Better deals on air tickets became possible when i-Free partnered up with the leading Russian ticket aggregators. Smartive Travel users now have access to all the possible route configurations and budget airline deals.

When the user has found the best price for the desired destination, he or she can buy the ticket right through the application, or on the aggregator’s mobile site by following a link. When buying their ticket through the application, users can pay by bank card, pay-terminal, or from their mobile phone account. When the ticket is purchased on the aggregator’s site, the user can utilize any of the payment options offered by that ticket system. And if the user plans to purchase the ticket later, they can send a link with their search results to their mailbox.

An organizer, built into Smartive Travel, provides extra convenience by saving all tickets purchased directly through the application, and reminding the user of the flight.

Another great thing about the updated Smartive Travel is the online information display. This is the first time in Russia that such a feature comes with a mobile application interface. The display shows flight times and statuses for all Russian airports, which is a welcome addition for passengers, their families, and for people who simply have to pick someone up at the airport. The information comes from the official airport websites and the online ticket agency Agent.ru.

But that is not all. The updated Smartive Travel comes with a much enlarged cache of information, listing the flights of over 800 airlines worldwide, complete with flight times, seats available, useful airport hints, and more. Android-based smartphone users also enjoy access to Russian train timetables.

Smartive Travel is a multi-platform application. Its iPhone, Android and Samsung Bada versions are already on the market, and they are all available for free download in Russia and the CIS.

“Smartive Travel is now not just more convenient. It’s a new application altogether – a successful hybrid of a travel guide and an air ticket exchange,” commented Alexei Kuznetsov, head of the development team at Brave i-Free Innovations. “It will do more than just help you plan a trip or find information about any flight or airport. When you need to instantly find and buy a ticket, say, when your flight has been cancelled, or you are stranded somewhere outside Russia with no other travel options, that’s where Smartive Travel can make a difference. I think users will quickly appreciate the app’s new possibilities.”

Last but not least, it is very safe to buy tickets on Smartive Travel, which is protected by i-Free’s high- security technological platform. The platform comes with all the appropriate certificates attesting its high level of safety.
