OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2011. A round-table discussion on Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in providing support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was held in the city of Donetsk in the course of the 2nd Russian-Ukrainian Interregional Economic Forum with the participation of Russian and Ukrainian heads of state.

The round-table discussion was organized by Vnesheconombank together with the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UUIE) and the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Board Member-Vnesheconombank Deputy Chairman Mikhail Kopeikin and Board Chairman of the Donetsk UUIE Regional Department Oleg Rogoza acted as moderators of the round-table discussion.

In attendance of the round-table discussion were representatives of the banking community including Vnesheconombank’s subsidiary banks, Ukraine’s and Russia’s non-government organizations as well as heads of Ukraine’s executive government authorities.

The round-table discussion’s participants discussed Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in providing support for SMEs among other things at a regional level as well as mechanisms for supporting innovative SMEs.

As a result of the round-table discussion a decision was made on the need to undertake joint efforts to introduce positive experience in providing the state’s support for SMEs including sharing information, providing consulting support as well as establishing cooperation at the level of banks, UUIE and RUIE, regional chambers of commerce and industry, sectoral non-government organizations of Ukraine and Russia.
