OREANDA-NEWS. October 21, 2011. Belarusian foreign trade deficit amounted to U.S. USD 2.025 billion in January-August 2011, compared to USD 3.610 billion in January-August 2010, shrinking by 43.9%, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

Overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 61.05 billion in January-August 2011, up 51.3% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 60.7% to USD 29.513 billion, and imports increased 43.5% to USD 31.537 billion.

Commodity trade deficit reached USD 3.405 billion in January-August 2011 (USD 26.093 billion of exports, 68.4% on the year, and USD 29.498 billion of imports, up 46.2%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 1.38 billion (USD 3.42 billion of exports, up 18.8%, and USD 2.04 million of imports, up 13.3%).
