OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2011. Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine announces the launch of "Save the baby's heart!" charity campaign. Everyone who buys the own brand Fine Dreaming diapers will contribute to the support of children, the patients of Kyiv City Heart Center.

The aim of "Save the baby's heart!" charity campaign is to help the Kyiv City Heart Center with funding emergency operations for children up to 7 years old with heart defects. The campaign will be held under the slogan "Give the joy of life to children!" The charity campaign will involve products of Fine Dreaming, METRO’s own brand. This brand offers quality hygiene and personal care products at very competitive prices.

During the campaign, which will take place till December 15, 2011 in all 26 METRO Cash & Carry stores throughout Ukraine; the company will collect at a special account UAH 5 from each pack of Fine Dreaming baby diapers sold. The funds generated within the campaign will be used for purchasing equipment for emergency operations in Kyiv City Heart Center.

The charity campaign is a part of METRO’s Care & Share long-term initiative. Within its frames over UAH 5 million have been invested in various social institutions, organizations and projects.

Every year about 4 thousand babies with congenital heart disease are born in Ukraine. To take care of such babies Kyiv City Heart Center with modern equipment and qualified personnel was opened in 2007. However, the chronic lack of funds does not allow using the clinic at its full capacity. Therefore, participating in this charity campaign and buying Fine Dreaming diapers, METRO Cash & Carry customers will care not only about their own babies, but also about children who need immediate help – a heart surgery.
