OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine announces about the pilot of acceptance of MasterCard and VISA bank cards at all of its cash desks in the Stores in Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv.

Targeting to operate in line with its customers’ expectations METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine is introducing the new services to its business. As of November 1st 2011 the 15 Stores in Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv will start to accept payments with MasterCard and VISA bank cards at all of their cash desks.

As Jacquot Boelen, The Managing Director of METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine commented: “The growing demand of our customers for bank cards acceptance has stimulated us to take the decision to introduce this possibility at MCC UA cash desks. Cashless payments, that take less time and are very convenient, will enhance customer satisfaction, as we will be able to service our customers even faster. This is especially important on the eve of Christmas season when more customers are coming to the Stores. With our newly renovated modern cash desks and bank card acceptance we target to provide them with quick and convenient check out”.

If the introdution of bank cards acceptance is appreciated by the customers in Q1 2012 METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine plans to roll it out in all of its Stores in Ukraine. The international wholesaler is implementing the project in partnership with the leading Ukrainian bank PrivatBank.
