OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2011. The AMOS-5 telecommunications spacecraft designed and manufactured by the Reshetnev Company was delivered to the Baikonur cosmodrome on November 4, 2011.

Now that the AMOS-5 satellite has been delivered to Baikonur, it will undergo pre-launch preparations planned for the nearest future. The spacecraft will be launched in tandem with the Loutch-5A data relay satellite in December, 2011.

AMOS-5 is the first project implemented by the Reshetnev Company for the Israeli satellite service provider Space Communication Ltd. The satellite is designed for a lifetime of 15 years and based on ISS-Reshetnev's medium-class Express-1000H platform. AMOS-5 will provide communications, television broadcasting and broadband services to Africa and Israel.
