OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2011. The World Bank (WB) plans to embark on developing a new country assistance strategy for Belarus in 2012, WB Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Martin Raiser told.

“Next year we will get down to developing a new country assistance strategy. We are determined to do that,” Raiser said.

While preparing a new strategy, the WB will focus on the prospects of launching new projects. “At the moment, we are at a very early stage. There will be quite a number of parties involved in developing a strategy, and now it is premature to talk about that”, Raiser said.

The WB completed its latest country assistance strategy for Belarus in the summer of 2011.
