OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2011. Azerbaijan has called terms of switching to euro-3 international fuel standards. From 1 July 2010 Azerbaijan switched to euro-2 international standards.

Head of Press-Service of State Committee on Standardization, Patents and Metrology of Azerbaijan Fazil Talibli has reported that at present preparatory work is underway on switching to euro-3 standards.

" It is planned to pass to euro-3 international fuel standards by late 2012",- F. Talibli said.

Earlier SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev said that manufacture of diesel fuel on euro-3 standard will begin before the end of 2011 and petrol in 2012.

“At that, changes in prices for this kind of fuel are not expected: regardless of whether fuel conforms to euro-2 or euro-3, its price is going to keep the same,” he said.

The Company also corrected the schedule of switching to fuel standard euro-3. Last spring SOCAR vice president for refining Davud Mammadov announced that start of manufacture of diesel fuel on euro-3 standard was scheduled for 2012 and petrol for the first half of 2013.
