OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2011. OJSC Power Machines has manufactured and tested a TZFG air-cooled turbogenerator with a capacity of 180 MW for the power unit at Izhevskaya TPP-1.

The new turbogenerator is designed to interface with a gas turbine. It’s been developed and manufactured in dimensions equal to those of 160 MW air-cooled turbogenerators being commercially produced by Power Machines and successfully used at power plants in Russia and abroad.

Power Machines is contracted to supply sets of equipment to five new power units which are currently being built within the frames of an investment programme carried out by IES-Holding. They are to form basic elements of the CCPPs at Kirovskaya TPP-3, Izhevskaya TPP-1, Vladimirskaya TPP-2, Permskaya TPP-9 and Novo-Bogoslovskaya TPP.

Under the terms of the contracts Power Machines is to supply each of these power plants with a set of equipment comprising a GTE-160 gas turbine, a 180 MW generator, an excitation system and a static frequency converter for this system, an air filter facility, automatic gas turbine control systems and auxiliary equipment for the gas turbine unit. The completion of shipping the equipment is planned for Q3 2012.

Moreover, Power Machines is to provide installation supervision services, train the customer’s personnel at the construction site, take part in commissioning works and carry out reliability run and warranty tests.

Earlier in September and October of this year Power Machines handed over generators for Permskaya TPP-9 and Kirovskaya TPP-3 to the customers. At present Power Machines is completing the production of a generator for Vladimirskaya TPP-2, which is to be handed over at the end of 2011.
