OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2011. In Moscow based on the results of XVI meeting of Russian-French Commission on Bilateral Cooperation the Russian-French declaration on cooperation in nuclear area was signed.

The Declaration was signed by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin and Prime Minister of French Republic F. Fillon.

The text of the Declaration states "The Governments of the Russian Federation and French Republic consider the development of nuclear industry as a significant task taking into account the objectives of assistance in responsible and sustainable development with the purpose to meet current and future energy demand and struggle against climatic changes". It also was highlighted that the governments of the both countries fully recognize the advantages of nuclear power in competitiveness, secure energy supplies and low green gases emissions.
