OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2011. Krasnodar has been included in the top ten of the recently published "Urbanica" Institute of Spatial Planning (St. Petersburg) Rating of Russian cities by the life quality (Top 20). Such criteria were addressed in the rating as the situation with the urban infrastructure and environment, the quality of social services, the economic stability and safety. The Institute specialists highly praised the situation with the urban infrastructure, including water supply and disposal networks managed by Krasnodar Vodokanal Company: the city has placed third by that criteria.

"For the water supply and disposal company responsible for the urban water networks it is a great honor to be placed high in the rating with good performance as for the urban infrastructure quality," Sergey Serov, Krasnodar Vodokanal Company General Director, said. "It is the indicator of our work that we will try to retain at that high level. Annually the company renovates and modernizes dozens of kilometers of the networks and facilities in the framework of the investment program which amounts to 3.16 billion rubles up to 2013."

The Company's General Director added that this year the water deironing station was built and commissioned, another such station is in the design stage and its construction start is planned for 2011. The design for renovating OSK-1 and OSK-2 water treatment works is about complete. At the same time the Company implements the program of reducing water losses by preventing hidden leaks, liquidating unauthorized connections, stabilizing water pressure; power-saving measures are being taken that have already reduced the power consumption by 12% while water losses have been lowered by 9%.
