OREANDA-NEWS. November 30, 2011. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov hopes that nominal GDP, following the results of 2011, will amount to 1.25 trillion UAH. He stated this during the Congress of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine.

"In 2011, Ukraine's GDP will reach approximately 1 trillion 250 billion UAH. It is already clear, as we will finish the year and at what level we will go up. In dollar terms, it will be about 160 billion. That is, less than in 2008," Mykola Azarov said. He underlined that it is the price of that populist policy which was conducted by the previous Government.

The Prime Minister reminded that in 2008, nominal GDP has constituted 950 billion UAH, or USD 210 billion. In 2009 – it was 913 billion UAH, and because of the collapse rate of hrivnia, has totaled USD 114 billion.

As he said, in 2012 Ukraine would come nearer on the size of nominal GDP in a dollar equivalent to indexes of 2008.
