OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2011. Using the opportunities of financial support from the European Union (EU) funds, Baltic Data Center, a leader in data centre and information systems management in the Baltic States, expanded its activities in the Nordic countries. During the project, implemented since the beginning of 2010, the company has more than doubled its revenues from customers in foreign countries.

In the course of the project valued at approximately half a million litas and co-financed by the EU structural funds, Baltic Data Center developed a unified long-term strategy for export development in the Nordic countries – Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The company also participated in four specialized exhibitions, and invested in the development of marketing tools specifically tailored to export markets.

During the project’s implementation, Baltic Data Center increased its revenues from foreign customers by from about 20 to 40 percent. Different companies operating in the field of finance – banks, insurance companies and other organizations – have become the company’s customers. Currently, Baltic Data Center provides data center and information systems management services to companies based in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia and Latvia.

According to Saulius Markыnas, Director of Baltic Data Center, the implementation of the project’s objectives required considerable investments, the attraction of which would have been difficult without financial support from the European Union’s structural funds. Therefore, Baltic Data Center implemented the project “Promotion of the Export of Data Center and Information Systems Management Services to Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark” according to the Operational Programme for Economic Growth, jointly with the European Regional Development Fund under the measure New Opportunities.
