OREANDA-NEWS. January 4, 2012. Moscow Domodedovo Airport for the first time in Russian aviation record handled 25mln passenger from the beginning of 2011. This passenger happened to be Inna Demina, flying SQ 61 flight from Moscow (Domodedovo) to Changi (Singapore).

"This occurrence implicates Domodedovo joining the group of the largest European airports according to ACI classification which had never before welcomed Russian members. We are the first! – said Igor Borisov, Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport, demonstrating ACI certificate. - Congratulations to all on the symbolic event. We wish our passengers to fly more, particularly through Domodedovo airport! We are always looking forward to seeing you at Domodedovo!"

The festive ceremony dedicated to the welcoming of the 25 mln passenger was attended by the representatives of state and municipal bodies, the media, airlines staff, airport management.

"Today is a remarkable day for Domodedovo airport – noted Alexander Mitusov, First Deputy Minister of Transport, City Government of Moscow Region – We know that the airport has intentions to develop its progress: next year will see the construction of a new runway, expansion of passenger terminal; jointly with the city administration it resolves issues of transport accessibility. On behalf of Moscow Region Government let me wish the airport further success and a good trip to Inna!".

"No other large airport displayed such development growth trends as did Domodedovo Airport from 2000, - said Dmitriy Gorodetskiy, Head of Domodedovo district administration – It is genuine success! I wish it accompanies the airport further!"

Concluding the welcoming ceremony, the 25 mln passenger was awarded a memorable certificate and a traveler’s gift kit which includes a branded travelling bag, document holder, e – book and a cozy rug.
