OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2012. Cargo throughput of Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (Port of Aktau, AISCP) in 2011 fell 5.5% year-over-year to12.1 million tons,  the Port Authority said.

In December, Aktau port handled 969,400 tons of dry cargo and oil products.

Transshipment of crude oil and petroleum products totaled 8,320,000 tons, shipments of dry bulk cargo reached 4,720,000 tons, including 2,140,000 tons of metal cargo, 303,000 tons of grain and 322,000 tons of other cargoes. The volume of ferry traffic was 1,433 thousand tons.
In 2011, Port of Aktau handled 2098 cargo vessels.

The Republican State Enterprise "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port” (Port of Aktau), located on the east coast of the Caspian Sea, is the premier port of Kazakhstan. The port is a gateway for international trade flows passing through the country. The Aktau port’s terminals handle a broad range of dry cargoes, crude oil and petroleum products. In 2010, the Aktau Port’s cargo throughput rose by 26.7% year-over-year, to 13,951,000 tons.
