ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih Announces Production Results in December 2011

OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2012. PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” announces its production results of December 2011.

MAIN MANUFACTURE FIGURES, THOUSAND TONS

Average salary at the enterprise in December 2011 reached 4 625.0 UAH (comparing to 3 901,6 UAH in December 2010).

Aleksandr Ioskov, Chief Production Officer, PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”: “In December we have fulfilled our production program thanks to stable operation of main technical equipment at the shops where a number of capital repair was carried out in 2011. In December we have finished capital repair of sinter machine 5 at sinter shop 2, of rotary furnace 4 at refractory and lime shop and repair works at light-section mill 250-3. These projects were aimed at improving general efficiency of equipment and working conditions of our employees. In December sinter machine 6 at sinter shop 1 was stopped for capital repair with the aim to ensure more stable operation. Installation of leveling and packaging line for rolled products is currently ongoing at light-section mill 250-2, as well as capital repair of converter, which will result in its improved reliability. In 2012 we will continue implementing capital repairs of equipment at production facilities of PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”.

In the social area the most significant event in December was commissioning of the two residential houses with 285 apartments for employees of the enterprise - one of the key investment commitments of the plant according to the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA). PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” is one of the few companies in Ukraine that construct and provide free housing for employees. In 2011 the company invested nearly 64 million UAH in construction of 2 new modern 9-storeyed buildings.

One of the major environmental projects was also completed at the end of December: “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” completed combining of pipeline air vents and containers into a common collector at the Coke-Oven Gas Recovery Shop. Before implementation of this project the air vents and containers were main sources of air emissions at this Shop. Now the common collector enables to reduce pollution by 13.8 tons per year. PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” invested 15.4 million UAH in construction of this environmental facility.
