OREANDA-NEWS.  January 18, 2012. The volume of information and communication services rendered to the organizations and population of Azerbaijan increased by 11.8% up to AZN 1.2 bn in 2011.

The State Statistics Committee reports that 72.7% of services accounted for the population. 61.8% out of the total income from ICT services was provided by mobile communications, which increased by 3.6% up to AZN 770 million against the 2010 same term.

Moreover, the number of cell phone users over the past year increased by 162,500 subscribers and reached 9.1 million subscribers by 1 January 2012, of which only 7 million numbers were active.
