OREANDA-NEWS.  January 24, 2012. Azerbaijan has completed the process of software licensing for governmental agencies.

Ultra reports that governmental agencies in Azerbaijan finished transfer to licensed versions of Microsoft software products within the project implemented by Ultra jointly with the Ministry of Communications & IT of Azerbaijan and Microsoft on the basis of the agreement from May 2010.

The project was aimed at reducing the level of penetration of pirated software products in Azerbaijan, and currently work is underway on introduction of Microsoft licensed products in state institutions of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The project also envisages creation of e-Government by the Azerbaijani government with the purpose to reduce risks associated with use of pirated software. This will enable to improve the quality of e-services provided by state institutions.
