OREANDA-NEWS. February 1, 2012. The Competitive Purchases Department of JSC “Gazprom” processed the applications and selected LLC “STROYGAZMONTAZH” as a general contractor for construction of the linear part of the second string as a part of the construction of the “System of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta main gas pipelines”.

The System of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta main gas pipelines is one of the key investment projects of JSC "Gazprom" and is designed to provide gas supply from the Yamal peninsula to the Northwest of Russia and further to the European consumers. The employer is CJSC "Yamalgazinvest".

LLC "SGM" will lay sections "0.0 km — 57.9 km" and "Gas Treatment Plant -1 — 0.0" on the Yamal peninsula (to the Baydaratskaya bay crossing). The length of the two sections is 84 km. Specialists have much preparatory work ahead: the project envisages the early construction of winter roads.

Construction will take place in highly complex conditions due to the necessity to lay down the pipeline in the areas of permafrost grounds, as well as due to the considerable distance from the procurement and support bases.

The diameter of the Bovanenkovo — Ukhta gas pipeline is 1420 mm. In some areas, the project envisages installation of insulating rings, with the result that the pipeline diameter will reach 1620 mm.

The design capacity of the system of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta main gas pipelines is 140 bln. cubic meters of gas annually. The time of implementation is from Quarter I of 2012 till Quarter II of 2013.
