OREANDA-NEWS.  February 2, 2012. Anhui province’s government-funded housing covered an area of 2,820.7 hectares last year, up 28.3 percent year-on-year. The figure was 56.9 percent of the total housing area, the provincial department of land and resources said on Wednesday.

Out of them, low-rent housing and public rental housing covered 370.25 hectares, up 347.6 percent from the previous year.

Affordable homes took up 1,262.75 hectares, down 0.9 percent year-on-year.

The rest, low-price housing and small-sized apartments, rose 41 percent year-on-year to 1,187 hectares.

Last year, the provincial government boosted effort to ensure adequate land supply for policy-related housing.

Official statistics showed the province's land supply for property development totaled 6,809.75 hectares in 2011, a 3.9 percent increase from that of 2010. Its land supply for residential use rose 3.8 percent year-on-year to 4,957.38 hectares, accounting for 72.8 percent of the total realty land.
