OREANDA-NEWS.  February 2, 2012. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has announced a rise in oil production in the country in 2012.

SOCAR first vice-president Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh says that this year country’s total oil production will be 45.45 million tons.

"The Company itself plans to produce 8.35 million tons and another 37.1 million tons of crude oil and gas condensate will be extracted from oilfield block Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and gas condensate field Shah Deniz.

Last year the country produced 45.3 million tons, including 8.4 million tons by SOCAR.
