OREANDA-NEWS. February 6, 2012. The share of loss-making companies in Belarus increased to 6.5% (563 entities) of the total number as of December 1, 2011 from 6.1% as of December 1, 2010, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Their net loss grew 5.2 times to 5.246 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br).

The return on sales in January-November 2011 was at 13.6%, up from 8% in January-November 2010.

In the manufacturing sector, the share of loss-makers was at 9.1% as of December 1, 2011, down from 11.8% the previous year. The profitability of manufactured commodity sales reached 17.1% from 8.6% the year before.

The share of loss-makers in the construction sector rose to 13.2% in November 2011 from 5.2% last year. The return on construction product sales went down to 5.4% as of December 1, 2011 from 8.2% the year before.

In agriculture, the share of loss-making enterprises was at 1% as of December 1, 2011, up from 1.2%. Profitability of sold products rose to 12.4% from 6.2%.

The share of loss-makers in the transportation sector stood at 3.7% as of December 1, 2011, up from 3.5% as of December 1, 2010. The profitability rate in that real economy sector dropped to 9.8% from 10.1% in January-November 2010.
