OREANDA-NEWS.  February 10, 2012. Within the framework of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev conducted a series of meetings.

 Cooperation level between SOCAR and the Atlantic Council was discussed during the meeting with the chief of the Atlantic Council Fred Kempe. The parties exchanged views regarding the issues of conducting the Atlantic Council’s session in Baku.

 During the meeting in Davos with chief of Executive Board of the ThyssenKrup Company Henrix Hisinger SOCAR President informed about the large-scale projects implemented by the State Oil Company, including the project of the carbamide plant to be built in Azerbaijan, as well as discussed prospects of cooperation between the two companies as part of the project. According to head of ThyssenKrup Company, his company has wide experience in various spheres of industry and noted the possibility of using advanced technology of ThyssenKrup in the projects implemented by SOCAR.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is in the center of attention of the world countries for its oil and gas potential with respect to supplying European energy security. Azerbaijan’s and SOCAR’s role in European energy security, potential infrastructural projects, routes of supply of country’s energy sources to the European markets were the main subjects for discussions at the meeting between SOCAR President, European Union energy commissioner Gunter Oettinger and RWE President Jurgen Grossman.

During the meeting with Jьrgen Fitschen, member of Deutsche Bank's Management Board, Rovnag Abdullayev held discussions on financing the projects implemented in Azerbaijan and abroad, especially in Switzerland. Besides, within the meetings held in Davos, SOCAR President also discussed prospects of cooperation with BNP Paribas CEO Budon Pro and Renaissance Capital CEO Stephen Jennings.
