OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. In December 2011, General Electric (Houston, USA) and E4 Group (Moscow, Russia) carried out a dynamic test of the LM6000 PF Gas Turbine Generator set for the Central Boiler House expansion project in Astrakhan. The project provides the construction of two double CCPP units with total capacity of 235 MW. In total, General Electric will manufacture and deliver 4 similar units for this project.

During the test, the specialists started the Gas Turbine with fuel gas, simulated synchronization with the grid (power was distributed to the large-capacitance batteries of the GE facility), increased load up to 100% of rate, switched to fuel oil, rejected load down to technological minimum, increased load again up to 100% of rate, switched from fuel oil to fuel gas again, rejected load down to technological minimum, and normally shut down the Gas Turbine.

The test was fulfilled successfully, and caused no claims or abnormal situations. The E4 Group specialists appreciated high competency of the GE engineers and excellent administrative work performed by General Electric managers who arranged the testing.

Within the frames of the Central Boiler House expansion project in Astrakhan, including the construction of two CCPP units of 235 MW total capacity, JSC E4 Group acts as the supplier of a Power Island, namely: 4 Gas Turbine Generator sets by General Electric, 4 HRSGs by JSC Energomash (Belgorod) – BZEM, 2 Steam Turbines by JSC Kaluga Turbine Works, 2 electrical generators by LLC Electrotyazhmash-Privod, and 4 gas compressor units by Enerproject. Moreover, E4 Group supplies Distributed Control System (DCS) based on General Electric Intelligent Platforms for 235 MW CCPP.
