OREANDA-NEWS. February 14, 2012. General Director of JSC Zarubezhneft N.G. Brunich as part of the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Audit Chamber of RF S.V. Stepashin on December 5, 2011 took part in the meeting with the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang.

In the course of discussion, a number of subjects of the Russian-Vietnamese cooperation was touched upon, including the ones in the area of energy. Speaking about the joint projects of the leading state companies JSC Zarubezhneft and Petrovietnam National Oil & Gas Group, the Chairman of the Audit Chamber of RF S.V. Stepashin and the President of Vietnam noted their high efficiency and importance for the economies of the both countries.

S.V. Stepashin thanked Truong Tan Sang for the assistance rendered in the period of preparation for signing the Intergovernmental agreement that assumed prolongation of the period of activity of JV Vietsovpetro for another 20 years. We remind that such an agreement was signed on December 27, 2010. He also noted that the established ties of friendship between the state Zarubezhneft and Petrovietnam allow to achieve big results in the area of oil & gas production. On his part, Truong Tan Sang thanked in the person of S.V. Stepashin the leadership of Russia for a possibility provided for the Vietnamese oilmen to work in the Russian North in the joint project of Rusvietpetro.

The head of Zarubezhneft N.G. Brunich assured the President of SRV that the company will make every effort for a further successful development of the cooperation with the Vietnamese partner, both in the area of Vietnamese offshore areas development within the frames of JV Vietsovpetro and in the northern fields of Russia within the frames of the project Joint Company Rusvietpetro.
