OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2012. Jewel Gideo said that Lear Corporation plans to open a new factory, and Moldova is among the countries where the investment might be made. This would be the second enterprise of Lear Corporation in Moldova, which might create another 1,500 jobs. The company is set to invest over 10 million dollars.

Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the development of this business meets the interests of both sides, and the government will continue to provide the needed support.

A team of representatives of the cabinet and the company will discuss the potential investment.

Lear Corporation, which produces equipment for vehicles, has been a resident of the Ungheni-Business Free Economic Zone since 12 January 2010. The company has 1,300 employees, mostly residents of villages neighbouring Ungheni town. The company ensures the transportation of the employees.

The average monthly turnover of Lear Corporation is about 45 million lei (100 per cent for export) and is continuously on the rise.

The company produces textile covers, vinyl and leather for car seats. The company's basic clients are the plants Lear from Tychy (Poland) and Mor (Hungary), and the end clients are the automobile producers BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Peugeot, Toyota and Citroen.

Lear Corporation is a member of Fortune 500 - the world's biggest corporations, and is one of the best automotive interior suppliers.
