OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2012. Munich (Bavaria) hosted today a roundtable on the provisions of the Roadmap for cooperation in power generation and gas supply.

Transport and Technology, heads of leading power generation companies, industry-specific unions and associations as well as mayors of largest cities in the federal land of Bavaria.

Gazprom was represented in the roundtable by Pavel Oderov, Head of the International Business Department.

In his speech entitled “The Cooperation with German Energy Companies” Pavel Oderov touched upon the current state of affairs and the prospects for Gazprom Group in the European gas market. A focus was placed on the fact that Gazprom's long-term export policy was committed to retaining the Company's stance on the European continent, while providing the sustainable diversification of final products and sales markets.

He also highlighted that natural gas utilization in the volatile economic environment would promote the European energy sector advancement and secure the optimal balance of price, quality and environmental safety.

In this context, emphasized Pavel Oderov, Gazprom viewed the development of power generation and gas supply in the Bavarian market as a promising area to expand the cooperation.

Summing up the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in resuming the implementation of mutually beneficial energy projects between Gazprom and the federal land of Bavaria.

In December 2011 Gazprom and the authorities of the federal land of Bavaria signed the Roadmap for cooperation in power generation and gas supply.

Bavaria is the largest of 16 German Federal States. It has the highest economic and scientific potential, and shows the best economic growth. Machine building, electrical engineering, power generation and chemical sectors are Bavaria's most developed industries.
