OREANDA-NEWS. March 02, 2012. The sales volume of commodity products, realized by JSC KuibyshevAzot for 12 months in 2011, amounted to 31.2 billion rubles, which is 48% more than the last year results for the corresponding period. Net income increased by 3.4 times, i.e. up to 5.9 billion rubles.

The positive activities dynamics is connected with both the favourable situation at the world markets of major products and with a significant increase in production volumes.

In the history of the company there were reached maximum volumes in the production of ammonia, caprolactam, ammonium nitrate, urea and ammonium sulfate. Compared with the results of 2010, there was increased the production of higher added value products, such as: polyamide, technical yarns and cord yarns.

In 2011, the output of major products at JSC KuibyshevAzot was as follows:

- Ammonia – 649 Kt, or 124.7% compared with the results in 2010;

- Ammonium nitrate - 550.8 Kt (111%);

- Urea - 349.6 Kt (118.9%);

- Ammonium sulphate - 479.5 Kt (109.1%);

- Caprolactam - 192 Kt (110%);

- Polyamide-6 - 141.9 Kt (125.5%);

- Technical and cords yarns - 13.5 Kt (178.6%);

- Cord fabric - 5.3 Kt (83.6%).

There was continued implementation of priorities in the company development, including technical modernization and renovation of basic production assets.

There was finished work on transferring the process scheme for the use of high-pressure gas. A large-capacity plant had been put into operation at the ammonia production unit with capacity of 1,800 t of ammonia daily.

There was commissioned a new installation on oxidate water-wash up in the production of cyclohexanone. The implementation of this technical measure will enable the company not only to reduce consumption of caustic soda used in the process, but also to reduce emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.

There was commissioned a production unit for polymer-concentrate-stabilizer (PCS) – the additive introduced into polyamide within the process of its further processing into high-tensile technical yarn.

There were implemented technical measures aimed to the reduction of resources consumption in the caprolactam production, such as: there had been introduced cooling circuits at the soda crystallization and sulfuric acid dilution units.

As a result of implementing the programs on improving production efficiency, resource-saving and reduction of environmental impact, from the very beginning of the last year there were reduced consumption indices as follows: for natural gas - by 6.2%, for hydrogen in the caprolactam production - by 9%, for caustic soda - by 2.8% and for benzene – by 1.1%. Despite the significant growth of production output, there was achieved reduction of emissions into atmosphere by 5.8%.

In total, for construction and technical re-equipment JSC KuibyshevAzot spent 1.1 billion rubles and there were overhauled production facilities for the amount of 1.6 billion rubles. Therefore, to update the company in 2011 there were allocated 2.7 billion rubles.

Main activities planned in this sphere for 2012 are as follows: construction of energy-efficient cyclohexanone production unit; start-up of compaction plant in the ammonium sulfate production unit; construction of storm water treatment facilities for sewage and waste waters that come from the companies located at the Northern Industrial Area and those at the Central district of Togliatti; carrying out work to further reduce the consumption of raw materials and energy resources and to increase our own power generation capacity through the use of secondary resources.

In the long-term strategic programme on increase of caprolactam processing, in 2011 JSC KuibyshevAzot acquired new assets - the German company STFG Filamente GmbH (in the town of Rudolstadt) that is a producer of textile nylon yarns used in industry.

There was signed an agreement on strategic partnership between KuibyshevAzot and Royal DSM NV Company (Holland), which is one of the world's largest companies on development and production of high-tech materials and industrial chemicals. In the framework of this cooperation, in 2011 there were set up two joint ventures: JV Volgaplast - for the production of engineering plastics and JV Volgalon – for trading. Moreover, under the agreement with Dutch partners, JSC KuibyshevAzot obtained the DSM license to cyclohexanone production technology, based on which design work started to create a new energy-efficient plant.

In 2011 the company continued to implement the policy of ensuring a social protection of its personnel. In total, for the social development, KuibyshevAzot spent about 300 million rubles that was 6% more than in 2010.

Under results of 2011, the enterprise tax assessments to the budgets of all levels amounted to 2.3 billion rubles.
