OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. The Ministry of Finance has had a meeting of trade unions of Ukraine with the Ministry’s area managers.

The meeting has discussed the solution progress and the Ministry of Finance involvement in social and economic issues raised by Ukraine-wide trade unions and professional associations at a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov held on January 27, 2012 and the one with Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Social Policy Serhiy Tihipko held on March 3, 2012.

Attendants have listened to the justification of the Ministry of Finance concerning Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov’s orders attached to applications from the Federation from the Trade Unions of Ukraine and the trade union core group based of the joint meeting.

Speaking about the implementation of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych’s social initiatives declared at the March 7 enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the need for cooperaton in finding sources of financing was emphasized.

Also, the meeting resulted in supporting the trade unions’ initiative to launch co-improvement of the tax legislation, including but not limited to, involvement of representatives of the Association of Small Towns of Ukrainem Association of Mayors of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

At the end, trade unions expressed their desire to continue cooperation in drafting the 2013 budget and budget outlook for 2014 and 2015.

In turn, Head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Hryhoriy Osovyy has appreciated the social dialogue taking place between the Government and trade unions. He also noted the constructiveness and efficiency of the MOF meeting with senior officials of Trade Unions of Ukraine.

"We have welcomed the fact that the Ministry of Finance shares our view and is prepared for active cooperation. A number of initiatives will be set forth in these draft decisions, which is now objectively important. Thus, the President’s initiative to advance social bursts will be supported in the social dialogue ", - Serhiy Kondryuk, Deputy Head of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, concluded.
