OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2012. President of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. Ltd. (KHNP) Mr. Jong-Shin Kim and TENEX General Director Alexei Grigoriev basically agreed on March 22, 2012 a possibility of enriched uranium product (EUP) supplies via a seaport located in Russian Far East. It took place during a meeting held within the framework of Nuclear Industry Summit currently taking place in the Republic of Korea devoted to improving of the nuclear power safety.

The Parties consider the new agreement as an important contribution to improving safety of the global nuclear industry, particularly given the fact that changing the supplies route will reduce the EUP en-route stay (from two to three times compared to the currently used route) and consequently minimize the related transportation risks.
