OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2012. Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems has successfully completed electrical testing of the telecommunications satellite Yamal-300K.

ISS-Reshetnev specialists performed electrical tests on the payload and platform equipment. The results verified systems’ proper operation and the spacecraft’s compliance with all requirements.

At present Yamal-300K is being prepared for thermal-vacuum tests. This type of verification is carried out to check satellite’s performance under extremely high and low temperatures of space environment. Apart from that, the spacecraft’s antenna assembly is currently undergoing temperature cycle testing.

The telecommunications satellite Yamal-300K is scheduled for dual launch with Loutch-5B for the 3rd quarter, 2012.

The Yamal-300K spacecraft is being built by Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems for the satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems.

Yamal-300K, featuring C-band and Ku-band beams, is to be inserted into geostationary orbit and positioned at 90 degrees East to cover the territory of Russia and CIS. The spacecraft will carry 26 transponders with high output characteristics, providing a wide range of satellite services.
