OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2012. Indian Railways have made elaborate arrangements to clear extra rush of traffic for the ensuing summer season from April 2012 to June 2012. More than 5600 trips of special trains have been planned to handle the rush during the ensuing summer period. These special trains have been planned over approximately 44 different popular routes to clear extra rush of traffic.

 Out of the summer specials planned, 14 trains are unreserved, 2 are fully air-conditioned and 10 are provided with superfast status. The summer specials are connecting States such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu Tawi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Pune etc. An All India Summer Special Time Table 2012 incorporating the above routes has also been published by the Railways and is also available at major stations for Rs. 5. About 119 new services introduced on regular basis will also become available during the summer. Extra coaches will also be attached to regular trains to the extent operationally feasible.

 The Zonal Railways and the Divisional Railways have made action plans for the convenience of the passengers during this rush period. Checking squads are being deployed at reservation offices; inspections are being strengthened to prevent misuse of tickets etc. Special arrangements are being made to make regular announcements about additional coaches, special trains etc at stations.
