In the afternoon of March 16, the 2012 Anhui Spring Tourism Network Road Show and the Anhui Tourism Guide, spring version, Online Ceremony were held in the multi-media conference room of Zhong'an Online. The move marks the beginning of marketing for Anhui spring tourism.

The marketing division of the administration and Zhong'an Online organized the event, which was undertaken by the Zhong'an tourism network and Anhui Anlu Media. 70 delegates from provincial counties, districts, scenic spots, travel services, news portals in the Yangtze River delta area, as well as journalists attended the ceremony.

17 key tourism counties, districts, scenic spots and leading travel services in the province were promoted highlights for local spring tourism with online video programs, live image-text broadcasting and live micro-blog broadcasts to Chinese, foreign tourists and netizens. Organizers activated the spring version of the Anhui tourism Guide, an online magazine posted by Zhong’an Online. The online services offers information on tourism activities in Anhui in spring, as well as messages on preferential treatment for travel routes and ticket prices.

Anhui captured 180 billion yuan in tourist revenues. Tourism revenues amounted to 12.5 percent of the provincial gross domestic product. They rose to 11th in province-based rankings in the country. The tourism sector has made a good start in the 12th Five-year Plan period (2011-2015). Anhui tourism has developed into a pillar industry for the national economy and a bright spot for the Chinese and foreign media.

According to authoritative research, Chinese tourism has entered a people-oriented fast growth period. Individual travelers are making up higher proportions of travelers. They are more reliant on the Internet for information. Tourists arranged their journeys through the Internet platform in which they can plan trips, gather information, book tours online, consult electronic maps, take a virtual tour and share tourist experiences.
