OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2012. KAMAZ’s foundry started mounting new equipment. The OKUMA CNC machining center made in Japan is intended for the production of tools under the Euro IV project, and also for the production of molds for nonferrous castings.

This equipment has got the following advantages: this rather compact equipment features a state-of-the-art computer numeric control system (with a processing accuracy of six microns), auto-changing of milling tools, low power intensity, and also usability.

Tools machining programs for the center will be written by programmers of the engineering department of the foundry tools production. And KAMAZ mechanical engineers, electronics experts, and operators will have to learn how to operate and maintain the new equipment. A five-day course organized by the representatives of the company is included in the cost of the contract.
