OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2012. Commercial Port of Vladivostok took delivery of two ship-to-shore gantry cranes built by Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. STS-cranes (40t SWL under spreader, 40 moves per hour) were designed with due consideration of all peculiar features of berth apron of 14-15 berths Container Terminal. Cranes can lift two containers simultaneously and will be able to handle Panamax container ships.

Total value of contract is over 400 mln. rubles.

The cranes were shipped "flat pack" (in parts) on specialized ship. The passage from Ireland to Vladivostok totaled 50 days. Cranes parts were discharged by ship heavy-lift derricks from vessel to the quay. During the erection of STS-cranes there will be operational 63-ton and 100-ton Harbour Mobile cranes, as well as 300-ton floating crane.

Crane erection will be carried out by ZAO Dalmontazh-Vostochny under complete supervision of LCC's skilled site supervisors. STS-cranes will come into operation in Q3 this year.
