OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2012. Stolichnaya Shipping Company introduced on April 20 during the opening ceremony of the 79th passenger navigation on the Moscow River M/V Stolichny-2, the second in a series of modern sightseeing passenger boats, the Transportation Ministry said.

The boat is intended for recreational cruises and commuter traffic. The first ship of the project was launched at Moscow Shipyard on May 12, 2011. This navigation season the vessel will be transporting passengers on the Vodootvodny Canal tour route.

The shipping company also presented a special catamaran with sitting capacity of 15 passengers, which will be used as a water taxi.

Stolichnaya (Capital) Shipping Company founded in 1933 operates a fleet of more than 55 recreational boats and work boats, organizes river cruises on the Moscow River and the Moscow Canal. Annual passenger traffic of the Company exceeds 1 million people.
