OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012.  Azerbaijan - Russia business meeting was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development on April 24.

Along with officials, the representatives of over 40 companies engaged in machine-building, construction, health, industry, finance, logistic and other field from Azerbaijan, and approximately the businessmen functioning in analogical areas of Russia attended the event.

The deputy minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov delivered information on socio-economic achievements of our country. It was noted that Azerbaijan became a dynamically developing country, the entrepreneurship was expanded, investment and business climate improved pursuant to the economic reforms and large-scale works founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and pursued by the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev. All of these paved the way for increasing prestige of Azerbaijan and foreign investors' interest for economy of our country. Azerbaijan had already become the exporter of investment. He also delivered information on the current economic relations and further development opportunities of cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Kurgan region of Russian Federation, emphasized the importance of importance of business forums, business-like meetings in development of the relations.

Deputy of gubernator of Kurgan region of Russian Federation Vasili Jarov emphasized that his country was interested in expanding ties with Azerbaijan, and gave information on Kurgan investment potential, and priority fields for cooperation.

The president of AZPROMO Adil Mammadov made presentation on business and investment climate of Azerbaijan, and gave information on favorable investment climate, as well as perspective fields of cooperation between businessmen.

Then the presentations on the activity of companies and new technologies in these fields were made by Russian companies.

The event was followed by the bilateral meetings. The economic relations and cooperation perspectives among businessmen were discussed at the meetings.
