OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2012. Power Machines OJSC has manufactured, tested and handed over a TZFG air-cooled turbo generator with a capacity of 180 MW for the Novo-Bogoslovskaya TPP power unit to the customer.

The new turbo generator is designed to interface with a gas turbine. It has been developed and manufactured in the dimensions equal to those of a 160 MW air-cooled turbo generator commercially produced by Power Machines. Similar generators are successfully operated at power plants in Russia and abroad.

Power Machines supply sets of equipment for five new power units which are being built within the frameworks of an investment program carried out by IES Holding. They are to form basic elements of the ССPPs at Kirovskaya TPP-3, Izhevskaya TPP-1, Vladimirskaya TPP-2, Permskaya TPP-9 and Novo-Bogoslovskaya TPP.

Under the terms of the contracts, Power Machines are to supply a set of equipment comprising a GTE-160 gas turbine, a 180 MW generator, an excitation system and a static frequency converter for this system, an air filter facility, automatic gas turbine control systems and auxiliary equipment of the gas turbine unit to each of these power plants. The equipment shipment is scheduled for completion by Q3 2012.

Moreover, Power Machines are to provide installation supervision services, train the customer’s personnel at the construction site, take part in commissioning and carry out comprehensive proving and warranty tests.

The generator for the CCPP at Bogoslovskaya TPP is the fifth to be supplied. Power Machines manufactured four similar machines for the power units at Permskaya TPP-9, Kirovskaya TPP-3, Izhevskaya TPP-1 and Vladimirskaya TPP-2 in 2011. The complete set of generator equipment for Permskaya TPP-9 was handed over to the customer within a period from December 2011 to January 2012. The scope of delivery of the generator equipment also includes pressurizing, thermal control and excitation systems, as well as a starter.

Moreover, Power Machines have fully completed the production of all the five sets of turbo groups, combustion chambers and foundation components for the plants to the present moment.
